I don't buy expensive paper towels and the environment is happy with me.

I am going to try this menu planning. Everyone talks about it. Now that C.J. is getting older, I might be able to stick with it. As you mentioned in an earlier post, sometimes buying in Bulk can really save you money. We recently got a Costco card and I LOVE it! I stick to buying items that I can freeze (which did you know you can freeze shredded cheese and it thaws great!) or that won't go bad quickly. But I also sometimes give myself challenges to use the entire "20lb bag" of "whatever" before it does go bad. Something I never would have been able to do when my husband and I both worked full time. I now have successfully used up very large bags of small red potatoes, baking potatoes, and onions.
2) Menu Planning. It's something I have thought about doing for a long time now but never had. I usually got hung up on the whole "what day will be "Taco" or "Pizza" day?" So while I pondered those great questions I never actually put it into action. Well this week (even before I read your blog) I decided to do it. So I have 6 days of supper meals planned. We'll see how it goes.
3) Napkins instead of paper towels. This was your suggestion awhile back and we have been loving it. Instead of using (and throwing away) loads of paper towels to clean the kiddos up after meals, snacks, etc. we now use (and re-use after washing) old cloth napkins that I picked up at garage/rummage sales. I love the idea, and it works!
Hultinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06396880180060054394noreply@blogger.com
